2015

The 86th Annual McIntosh Family Reunion was held on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the Lacey-Keosauqua State Park Lodge. Approximately 28 persons gathered for a Pot Luck dinner and visiting.

After the dinner, President Jeneale Zumdome of Fort Madison, Iowa, opened the business meeting, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Passages from the McIntosh family Bible were read by Jerry Lair.

The meeting minutes from last year’s meeting, which was held in Canton, Missouri, were read by Louise House and approved. The Treasurer’s report was given by Louise House and approved. No bills were presented. Motion to approve by Duane Barker and seconded by Mark Zumdome. Motion carried.

Old Business
Jeneale Zumdome said we had received a request to change the date of the McIntosh Family Reunion to a weekend in July. After discussion, cards were passed out to vote on the request. Eleven votes came back to keep the reunion in September.

New Business
A question was raised about possibly holding the McIntosh Family Reunion in Keosauqua, Iowa, every year. After discussion it was suggested to hold the reunion at the Eagle’s Club instead of the City Park when the reunion is in Canton. This might be closer for Missouri and Illinois relatives.

Jeneale Zumdome presented the Clan McIntosh Banner/Shawl to Duna Barker as our new President. Jeneale has been an officer in Clan McIntosh for 50 years; one of her biggest accomplishments was having the headstone for our first McIntosh ancestor (George McIntosh) in Center Chapel Cemetery restored after the original one was broken. This was done with a collection taken in 1991 and the headstone purchased in 1992. Jeneale has been an excellent leader, carrying forward the timeless traditions of the McIntosh families in the area. We honor her!

A total of $100 was collected and added to the treasury.
