1959The 30th annual reunion of the McIntosh descendants was held the 16th of August, 1959, at Blackburn Riverside Park, Keosauqua, Iowa. Being a bad day the attendance was quite small with only about 15 present. Dan as usual had coffee made and ready for a nice dinner which was very much enjoyed by all present. A short meeting was held. In the absence of the secretary, Margaret Strait acted as the secretary. Bills for coffee allowed and motion carried. Motion made and carried to meet at the Legion Hall from now on, on the third Sunday of August. Dinner will be served at twelve noon. Ralph Barker appointed to rent the Legion Hall. All other committees to hold over: Margaret Strait, cream; Dan McIntosh and Dana Blaskey, coffee; Wyatt McIntosh, ice and water. Bills allowed: Coffee 79¢, ice 75¢, Postal cards 36¢ with a total of $1.90. Bills allowed. Margaret Strait card bill allowed for stamps and box of cards at 58¢ and 59¢. The collection was $5.08. The meeting was adjourned. The rest of the afternoon was spent visiting and good-byes were said for another year. Margaret Strait Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1958The annual reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held August 17, 1958, at the Blackburn Park near Keosauqua, Iowa. The clan began to gather about 11:00 a.m. near the river. Cars from many ports brought the members of the family. Dan, being absent for the lst time since the gatherings were organized, was greatly missed. In his absence, coffee was made and served by Buzz. There were about 45 present having come from: Keokuk, Burlington, Ft. Madison, Mt. Pleasant, Bloomfield, and Keosauqua, Iowa. Also some family members from Memphis, Missouri. A bountiful dinner was served at noon. Having returned the thanks was Harry who filled in for Dan's absence. A short business meeting was conducted by Harry McIntosh, our vice president. Secretary's and treasurer's reports presented and accepted. Bills for coffee, ice, and cards allowed. It was voted to buy a box of cards for Margaret to send during the year of 1959. Committees were voted to hold over another term. Margaret, cream, Dan and Dana with the coffee, and Buzz for securing the grounds and also the water. The meeting was adjourned until the reunion on the third Sunday in August of 1959. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon which was spent visiting until it was time to say good-bye for another year. Lenora McIntosh Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1957The 28th reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held on August 15, 1957, at Blackburn Riverside Park near Keosauqua, Iowa. Between 40 or 45 attended, and they came from Burlington, Keokuk, Ft. Madison, Mt. Pleasant, Milton, all in Iowa. Also Memphis, Missouri and the state of Florida. Dan with the assistance of Dana had the coffee brewing as we arrived so would know which spot to go to. Dan offered thanks for a bountiful meal of everything imaginable from as many kitchens as were represented. After dinner the business meeting was called to order by Dan, our president. Reports were made by the secretary, Lenora McIntosh, and approved as read. At this time Lola resigned as treasurer since serving since 1930. Edna McIntosh was elected to the office. All committees reported and bills were allowed. Lola had taken care of the flag that was presented to the clan by Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Moberg in 1939. Having moved to Florida, the flag had to find a new home. It was moved and seconded that Margaret take care of the flag. We asked for permanent addresses of all present for our mailing list. Committees for the 1958 reunion were appointed and as follows: Grounds and water, W.W. McIntosh, cream will be Margaret Strait. Coffee, Dan McIntosh and Dana Blaskey. Margaret reported having sent 11 cards in 1957. The meeting was then adjourned. The afternoon was spent visiting with one another and good-byes were said until August 1, 1958, at the next reunion. Lenora McIntosh Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1956The annual reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held on August 19, 1956 at Blackburn Riverside Park near Keosauqua, Iowa. There were about 40 members of the clan present. They came from: Memphis, Missouri; Bloomfield, Milton, Ft. Madison, Pulaski, Keokuk, Keosauqua, all in the state of Iowa. Dan had the coffee brewing as the members arrived and the aroma led them to the right spot. After a wonderful meal, President Dan McIntosh called the meeting to order and the meeting was opened by a prayer and the song "America". Reports by the secretary, Lenora McIntosh, and the treasurer's report by Lola McIntosh were read and approved. Motion was made to make Lenora McIntosh secretary for life in accordance with other officers. Motion seconded and carried. Also motion was made to make Blackburn Riverside Park permanent meeting place for the reunion on the 3rd Sunday of August of any year unless other arrangements are made. Motion seconded and carried. The following committees were appointed for the following year 1957: Ground and water, W.W. McIntosh. Cream, Margaret Strait. Entertainment, Edna McIntosh, Dana Blaskey, and Lola McIntosh. Business meeting was adjourned and turned over to the entertainment committee. Dana Blaskey conducted a quiz program. Harold and Alice Dell Robbins treated the crowd to ice cold soda pop. The bills were a card for Margaret Helen 50¢, Helen Diercks funeral card 50¢, and postage 18¢. The afternoon was ended by lots of visiting and good-byes were said for another year. Lenora McIntosh Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1955The McIntosh Clan held their reunion on August 21 at the Blackburn Riverside park near Keosauqua, Iowa, on August 21, 1955. There were nearly 40 members of the Clan present, with the following towns represented: Mt. Pleasant, Milton, Farmington, Waterloo, Ft. Madison, Franklin, Bentonsport, Irish Bend, and Keosauqua, Iowa. Dan McIntosh was on hand to brew his special kind of coffee, assisted by Dana Blaskey. After a wonderful meal, President Dan McIntosh, assisted by vice president Harry McIntosh, called the meeting to order. A prayer followed by the group singing of "America" opened the meeting. Reports were read by the secretary, Minnie McIntosh, and the treasurer, Lola McIntosh, were read and approved. At this time Minnie resigned as secretary after serving for 28 years. Mrs. Lenora McIntosh was elected to fill the office of secretary The minutes of the first reunion in 1927 were read as a refresher on family history. Greetings from Lt. JG and Mrs. F.W. McIntosh of Corona, California were read. George and Isabelle McIntosh are the ones of which the McIntosh Clan are direct descendants. Dan McIntosh, Milton, was the eldest and Jodie Zumdome (grandson of Horrell McIntosh and great grandson of Minnie McIntosh) was the youngest.
