1979The 50th annual reunion of the McIntosh clan was held on Sunday, September 16, 1979, at the Legion Hall in Keosauqua, Iowa. We had thirty-four in attendance. Duane Barker gave the blessing, and then everyone enjoyed the bountiful meal that was served. President Barker called the business meeting to order. Election of officers was held with the following elected to serve for two years. President, Bill McIntosh; vice president, Marvin Boecker; secretary Linda Armstrong; and treasurer, Jeneale Zumdome. The minutes of the 1978 reunion was read by Linda Armstrong who filled in for Bernie Murphy, our secretary. Bernie was unable to attend. The treasurer's report was given by Jeneale with a balance of $16.50. Our freewill offering came to $14.60. All in all we have a total of $43.05. Bills were to be paid by Mrs. Zumdome. The 51st reunion will be held on September 21st at the shelter house in Rodeo Park at Ft. Madison. A cooperative dinner will be served at 12:30. Mary Jane Harkey and Jeneale Zumdome will be in charge of the drinks and getting the shelter reserved. Cards will be sent out by the secretary. President Barker gave Paul and Linda Armstrong a long stem red rose in honor of their 10th wedding anniversary, which is today. Gifts and flowers were given to the following people: The oldest man and woman present were Dr. J.A. McIntosh and his wife Edith. The youngest girl was Amy Armstrong, the youngest boy was John Robbins. The Marvin Boecker family had the largest family present with six. Paul Daughtery from Keokuk traveled the greatest distance. The gifts were donated by Duane Barker and the carnations by Greg Zumdome. Weddings
During a trivia discussion it was announced that Lola Martin has attended all of the 50 reunions. Several have only missed one. Everyone introduced themselves and the town they were from. President Barker thanked everyone for attending and hopes to see them all next year. The new President of the clan, Bill McIntosh adjourned the meeting. Everyone helped to clean the hall and then bid each other good-bye till next year. Linda D. Armstrong Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1978Our 49th annual reunion was held at Rodeo Park in Fort Madison, Iowa on Sunday, September 17, 1979 and we were delighted to have 81 relatives present. Mrs. Edith McIntosh gave the prayer before we all enjoyed the cooperative dinner. Duane Barker, president, called the meeting to order with an introduction of all members present and where they were from. Officers for this year will keep their office for one more year so there was no election of new officers. The minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary, Mrs. Bernie Murphy and the deaths of 4 of our members were reported since our last meeting. Flowers were given to the oldest members present. They were Dr. and Mrs. A.J. McIntosh, Dr. McIntosh being 77 years old. Our youngest member was 8 1/2 month old James Edward Harkey, son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Harkey. Those traveling the farthest were: Mr. and Mrs. Francis McIntosh of Corona, California, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dobbel of Santa Cruz, California and Mr. Horrell McIntosh of Fairfield, California. These members were also given gifts of flowers. Drawings were held for door prizes and winners were Eva McIntosh, Margaret Gray, John Robbins, Roger Freitag, Mike Robbins, Charles Boecker, Michele Armstrong and Emily Boecker. Our thanks went to Gregory Zumdome who donated the presents that were given away. The treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Vince Zumdome informing us that our last years balance was $17.50. A collection was taken, bills were paid for flowers for Buzz McIntosh and postage for cards and a new balance of $43.35 was reported. Alice Dell Robbins was given money to cover the cost of the coffee and drink which she made but it was donated back to the treasury. Another donation given was by Gregory Zumdome which was the rent on the shelter house. The meeting was then turned over to Mr. Francis McIntosh to speak on genealogy. He played a short portion of a tape entitled "The Gathering of Clan Chattan", by Pipe Major McClean. Everyone enjoyed looking through the book of findings which he had with him pertaining to the research he had done on the McIntosh Clan. The members were also addressed by Howard Dobbel and Horrell McIntosh. The meeting for next year was again set for the third Sunday of September being the 16th and it will be held at the Legion Hall in Keosauqua, Iowa. The meeting was then adjourned and goodbyes were said until next year. Weddings
Bernie Murphy Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1977The 48th annual McIntosh reunion was held at the Legion Hall in Keosauqua, Iowa on September 18,1977 with 43 members of the clan present. Duane Barker, vice president, gave the prayer before the cooperative dinner. The business meeting was called to order by Rusty Robbins, president, after the presentation and pledge to the flag. Linda Armstrong, substituting for the secretary and treasurer who were absent, read the minutes to the last meeting and also gave the treasurer's report. Bills were then allowed to Bobbie Boyd for cards, to Russ and Lola Martin for coffee and drinks, and for rent on the hall. Money given the Martins' was donated back to the treasury. Everyone listened as Lloyd F. Gray read a letter received from Francis McIntosh, geneologist, of Corona, California. He was asking for pictures and information. Of the families present the largest family was that of Mr. and Mrs. Vince Zumdome having 8 present. Our youngest members attending were John Eugene Robbins 2 weeks old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Robbins. Corey, 10 months old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Anderson. Traveling farthest was Angela Schaller of Canton, Missouri. Two marriages were reported during the year. Rusty and Liz Robbins and Roy and Eva Robbins. Election of officers was as follows: President Duane Barker, vice president Rusty Robbins, secretary Bernie Murphy, and treasurer Jeneale Zumdome.It was then voted to move the next meeting to Rodeo Park at Ft. Madison, Iowa on the 3rd Sunday of September. Meeting was adjourned after Rusty Robbins was nominated to make shelter arrangements and Alice Dell Robbins to make coffee and drink for our next meeting. Weddings

Bobbie Boyd Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1975The 46th annual McIntosh reunion was held Sunday, September 21, 1975, at the Legion Hall in Keosauqua, Iowa. The attendance which was larger than in 1974. The morning was enjoyed by us all as we made our way around the hall to chat with our families, some of whom we hadn't seen for quite sometime. Following our lunch, President Arnold Barker called the meeting to order. Ida Boyd, of Memphis, Missouri was the oldest of the clan attending, age 89. Amy Margaret Armstrong, granddaughter of Margaret McIntosh-Gray was the youngest at 11 months. Roy Robbins travelled the farthest, from Japan. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Clark, Beth, and John from Mt. Ayr. We had four senior members present, Ida Boyd, Buzz McIntosh, Uncle Shorty, and Dorothy McIntosh. Margaret Strait (Aunt Muggs) another senior McIntosh was unable to attend because of illness. We all sang Happy Birthday to Jeremy Gilbert grandson of Lola McIntosh-Martin, whose 2nd birthday was that day. Arnold Barker led a discussion to the younger McIntoshs' and explained to us how important it is for us all to keep our "clan" going. Treasurer's report was read and we had a balance of $ with a collection of $24.00 taken in. Election of officers was taken with Rusty Robbins president, vice president, Bobbie Boyd secretary, and Jean McIntosh treasure. Duane Barker and Jean McIntosh card committee. In the absence of the officers Dorothy Regur took charge. Secretary's report read and approved. Eleven cards reported sent, 18 invitations sent. The treasurer's report for 1972 balance of $4.19. The 1973 collection balance of $14.00 total of $18.19. Bills allowed: Hall $10.00, invitations $1.08, postage $0.88, box of cards $1.00 with a total of $12.96 left. Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1972The 42nd reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held the 20th of August 1972 with 27 present. A basket dinner was served with hot coffee or a cold drink. The meeting was called to order by the President Arnold Barker. Secretary's report read and approved. Treasurer reported a balance of $5.68. A collection of $10.00 was taken in. Bills for cards $1.49 and $10.00 for hall rent were allowed. Margaret made motion to change meeting date because of the hot weather. Hugh motioned to hold it the 3rd Sunday of September, approved and carried. Motion made to hold over all officers made and seconded. A get-well card was signed by all present to send to Alice Barker and a birthday card to Ida Boyd whose birthday was the l9th of August. A thank you note to Russ and Lola Martin for cream and the use of their coffee maker. Meeting was adjourned early because of the extreme heat. Weddings
Lenora McIntosh Return to Clan McIntosh Home Page 1971The 41st annual reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held August 15, 1971 at the Legion Hall in Keosauqua, Iowa with 41 present. Following a basket dinner the business meeting was called to order by President Arnold Barker. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Treasurer's report was $5.68. All bills allowed. Motion made to hold all officers over, seconded and carried. Gene Carroll came the farthest. Gene McIntosh family with the largest number attending. Edna was the oldest present, and her grand daughter, Sara Jane Boecker the youngest. Edna brought the family tree record, dating back to 1839. John McIntosh was the first of the clan. Some of the seventh generations were present. Weddings
