McIntosh was born 07 September 1845 to William McIntosh and Jane (McKay)near Inverness, Scotland. He immigrated to the USA in the mid-1860s after getting out of the British Army and married Nancy Cloud in Indiana. Their 1st child, Jane Elizabeth McIntosh (my Grandmother) was born in Sharpsville, Indiana on 24 April 1868. They moved to Elsie, Michigan where they had 10 more children; Eva (m. Peck), Elizabeth (m. Lee), Mary (m. Scott), William (m. Mead), Clara (m. Jarvis), Myrtle (m. Kordee), Vernon (m. unknown), Ida (m. Mead), Elton (died young) and Robert James (stayed single). Jane Elizabeth married Edwin Wilson, children; Calista, Lewis Edwin, William Robert (my dad) and Ralph Curtis. Most of John McIntosh's children are buried in the Elsie cemetery. His son, Francis, married Catherine Smith. Francis' son, Alexander F. McIntosh came to the US in 1880 with his wife, Jane Mason and family. They first settled in Brookfield, Trumbull Co., OH, then Perry Co., OH, Rock Springs, WY, then Cleveland, OH. They were coal miners.
