My grandmother was Hattie Mae McIntosh born Feb14th 1887 and lost contact with family when she was 16 when she left home to be a live in help to a farmers wife. Granny said that she had 3 brothers WIlbur, Orville, and Arlin. Her fathers name was Will and her mothers name was Emma. Granny didn't know any other dates besides her birth date. She had no schooling but said that her folks came from Malden, Mo. Would love to hear from anyone that may know any information about her family. My mother was an only child so we have no other links to that side of the family.

I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and lived in the Highlands (Aviemore near Inverness) most of my adult life.I met a few Clan members when I went to a Burns supper in Denver,CO. I hand paint coats arms of Scottish Clans and have been as busy here in the states as I was[at]home! I think our decendants have faired better over here than their ancestral home....I put it down to the weather!! We are, of course, related to many clans, especially the MacPhersons. To those who have never been to Scotland, our place of origin, mainly Strathspey and Badenoch areas, is a very beautiful, if wild place...and I mean that in every sense! But the folks there are the friendliest on the planet, and everyone is made very welcome. I have never seen this site before, so very happy to add my little penny's worth and say to all my kins men....Slainte!

I'm surprised I haven't found this site sooner! I still treasure a 2 day getaway to Inverness while visiting a friend in London. My driver (and a school teacher) took me to Moy, introducing me to Lady McIntosh. It was nice to see the estate grounds, early ruins on an island in view of the current Moy Hall, and especially the stone coat of arms sitting on the ground[at]the ruin of the previous Moy castle. The "homemade" museum behind Moy Hall with Charlies bed, and all the relics from Culloden, was incredible. The best part is that I went totally unprepared, and just happened to meet a taxi driver who turned the visit into a trip of a lifetime. I can't help but wonder how many McIntoshes have been through there who never had the opportunity I did to see so much family history?

Clay McIntosh of Owsley County Kentucky born 1936 died 1992. His parent were Mae and Thomas McIntosh. He married Nancy Houze and Had the following children Gary, David, Debbie, Glenn, Daniel, and Christopher. Nancy died[at]childbirth with Chris.
