I have just returned from a trip to Scotland and when visiting the Culloden Monument and Exhibition Centre near Inverness I was impressed with the exhibition and description of the Battle of Culloden. I subsequently found the cemetery at the old Petty Church which contains a building/crypt reportedly housing the remains of the Mackintosh Clan Chiefs. Who has more information on this site? My mother and Grandfather were McIntosh.

My huspands ggrandfather was Thomas Walker McIntosh born in Argyle,Guysborough Nova Scotia. We believe his father to be Duncan McIntosh who immigrated to scotland in 1843 with 3 daughters and four sons. We have found a Duncan McIntosh in Aharacle, Argyl, Scotland who was married to Marjory McGregor. Further searching we found that he was born Dec. 22,1786 to Duncan McIntosh and Mary Graham in Kilninver and Kilmelford, Argyle. There were additional children listed of Duncan and Mary: John b. Nice website you have here. I've recently been digging into my clan roots, and its all very interesting.

In fact I'm so inspired, I've decided to leave Devon, go back to the highlands in Scotland, run around the moors while weilding a large Highlander like Claymore sword screaming "LOCH MOY!!" at the top of my voice. And read Oor Wullie, The Broons and eat haggis on a regular basis.

I am researching my McIntosh roots.

Angus McIntosh, born abt. 1776 in Invernessshire/Nairnshire Scotland married Margaret Tulloch of the same area, born about 1785. Came to Galt, Ontario, Canada between 1824 and 1846.

Their known children:

1) Ann/Nancy McIntosh, born 1810 in Nairnshire, m. ? Campbell, had a son Malcolm Campbell, born abt. 1843.

2)John McIntosh, born 1812

3)Angus McIntosh, born abt. 1815, m. Catherine McPherson, children Jessie (1864), David ('66), Hugh ('67), Margaret ('70), James Tulloch ('72), John A. ('76), Mary Isabella ('77). He is my g-g-grand; his daughter Jessie is my g-grandmother. Angus's family moved to Hamilton in the 1880s.

4)David McIntosh, born 1818, m. Mary Carrick. Children Jane/Jean born abt. 1847 and Angus born abt. 1849.

5) Margaret McIntosh, born 1822, m. James Ainslie. Children Margaret, Jane Ann, Eliza, Margaret Weir, Alexander, Davina.

6) Peter McIntosh, born abt. 1824

I welcome any inquiries about this family, or other McIntoshes in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Galt/Cambridge area in the 1800s.

I would like to make some ammendments to yesterdays message: My Grandfather was Robert McIntosh born in Lochee 18/6/1886.Married Marion Turner in 1908.

GGfather Imrie born Dundee 1865 Married Jessie Bruce GGGfateher Rober McIntosh marrieed to Mary Pert.

All lived around Lochee (Loones Road).

My grandfather had a brother named David Cameron McIntosh who moved to the USA around 1908.

We also have in our possession a jug which has the family motto and crest on it with the names William and Catherine Tosh, not McIntosh but Tosh.

Greetings all. Back again onto this wonderful Guest Book. I continue to look for the Sons and Daughters of Charles and Susan McIntosh who were married in Kirkmichael, Perthshire, SCOTLAND away back in 1795. They produced Betty on 3rd Feb 1797 in the same area, followed by John 19th April 1799, Our James 13th August 1800, then Patrick on 17th April 1803, and finally baby Charles on 20th July 1809 at New Alyth which is not too far away. If anyone knows or links to those names that would be wonderful. NEXT our James married Isabella (nee Butter) on 3rd June 1827. They produced Susan in May 1828 (we know all about her), then came our James (junior) born on 27th Jan 1830 at Craigtown of Dalrulzian (not far away), next was John born 30th April 1832 in same area, Betty born 18 November 1832 (we know all about her), for some reason there was another John born 30th April 1836 followed by Ann born 8th August 1839 and her baby sister Grace who was born on 17th August 1841 at Bendochy. You can see that parents were quite busy in those days. I too am busy trying to find where all these folk went to as there are none of our Clan left in the area. Help is now needed to make our cool moist evenings moer exciting. Thank you for reading this. A reply in some form would be delightful. Please see message of April, I left wrong address. Searching for information on Robert McIntosh, son of Lachlan and Janet, born in Penrith Scotland on 06/16/1889 and married Margaret Auton on 12/25/11. They came to the US via Canada in 1922-23. Had two children Maurice and Margaret. I know of only one brother of Robert McIntosh, John W. born on 09/04/1879 and died on 03/29/63 in Flushing, Michigan. Have traced my family tree back to my ggggggrandfather, Peter McIntosh b.1758 married to Paggy or Peggy Mix. They had two children that I know of, James b.1795 in Virginia and William b. 1790 in Virginia. James had one known son named John b. 1813 in Breathitt Co. Kentucky. We have been able to trace the family back to David Glennie whose family was attached to the Kennedy family who were the Earls of Cassilis in Ayrshire. He was created a "belted" knight as Sir David Glenny of Glenville in County Down in Ireland by the sixth Earl of Cassilis; and given a large grant of land at a place called Ardarragh near Newry. My question is what was his background? The Glennies are a sept of the Mackintosh; what were their connections to this clan? According to historical records, the name Glenne was first recorded in 900 AD in Peebles located in the Borders county. How did we get to the highlands and the Mackintosh Clan? I've information from my Great-uncle that states the family is from Invernesshire but can find nothing at ScotsOrigins for a soundex of Glen* in that county but at Ayr, Angus, Midlothian, etc. ... Where do I turn to now?

Trying to trace my husband's family tree. We can get as far back as John Andrew McIntosh who was born at Berford in Brantford County Ontario in 1859. I am searching for some family history on the McIntosh that helped settle Darien, Ga. I believe I am related to: Capt John McIntosh (1755-1826) and Chief McIntosh

The Darien, GA Census lists the following in these McIntosh Households:

Year of 1850 Household consists of:

William A McIntosh (son of Elsey) Evaline/Avaline (daughter of Elsey & mother of Matilda) Elsey (mother of William A & Evaline/Avaline Mary James W Matilda (daughter of Evaline/Avaline)

Elsey would have been my great great great great great grandmother.

Year of 1860: Virginia McIntosh who was around 6 years old was living with her grandmother Virginia later married Anderson Williams (around 1877) (Virginia was my great great grandmother.)

Year of 1900 George & Matilda (not sure if this is McIntosh or not, could possibly be George Bryant who married Matilda McIntosh)

We also believe that the nale of Hutson is maybe somehow connected to us.

Looking for information about my great grandfathr (paternal)

he was Donald Mc Intosh born April 1844 at Red Castle Parish of Kilerman in the Country of Rosshire. He marrie Jessie Wright born March 1849 at Lochee in the county of Forfar. They marrie on july 18th 1873.

They hade 7 children, all of them was borned in Glasgow Annie Wright McIntosh born 1873 Andrew McIntosh born 1877 Maggie McIntosh - do not have any dates Justina McIntosh " George W.McIntosh born June 16th 1884 William Donal McIntosh born May 11th 1886 James Wright McIntosh born June 1890

I am doing research on my family tree and would love information on my greatgrandfather. All that I know is that his name was George C. McIntosh and he would have been born in the late 1800's. He married Ida Irwin and subsequently had eight children, of which, my paternal grandfather John Franklin McIntosh was the oldest. Any information on him and his lineage would be greatly appreciated. I do know that my grandfather, John Franklin McIntosh, was born April 18, 1900 on a farm near Medora, Iowa. He died on August 31, 1982 in Des Moines, Iowa. My grandfather was preceded in death by his parents as well as by two of his brothers, Lloyd and Ray, and his sister, Mildred McIntosh McCarthy. Since my grandfather's death, his brother Floran McIntosh has passed away, as well as his sisters Veda McIntosh Adams and Leota McIntosh Miller. One sister, Rosa McIntosh Baughman is living today and resides in a nursing home in Osceola, Iowa. To my knowledge, all of my grandfather's siblings resided in Iowa their entire lives, except for his brother Floran, who lived in the Kansas City, Mo. area.

John Franklin McIntosh married Nora Virginia Rundall on Jan. 2, 1919. They had two children, George Rundall and Nada Marlene. George Rundall McIntosh is currently living in Sun City, Arizona. George has one son, Randall Ray McIntosh who lives in Des Moines, Iowa. George Rundall McIntosh has one grandson; Anthony Brown, whereabouts are unknown. Nada Marlene McIntosh married William Bruce Stone on July 29, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa. They had two children; William Bruce Stone, Jr. and Heidi Anne Stone. William Stone, Jr. married in 1980 and has 3 children, residing in Ankeny, Iowa. Heidi Anne Stone married Bruce Lynn Tjaden in 1983 and they have 3 children. They residen in Wichita, Kansas.

Wade hardy, from nfld; one of the few places that people still live the way they did years ago. There are strong family and community values here, although the larger centers are being slowly poisoned by modern thinking and weak leaders. Well I am suprised to find so many of us under one one site. And further more, hello all the TODD`S!

I am proud to be a Mackintosh and just to let you all know, my son was born on the 30/6/00 at 25wks old. Thanks to his Mackintosh blood he is fighting with pride. I am sure we are all happy to welcome SERAPH into the mackintosh clan.
